MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. PRN STATUS POLICY: Employees working in a PRN status are valued members of MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. and are subject to certain expectations. PROCEDURES: A. PRNEmployees are required to complete the PRN Information Sheet included with this policy. B. The Human Resources Department and/or Supervisor must be kept informed of current contact telephone and pager numbers. C. The Human Resource Department must be kept informed of address changes and emergency contact information. D. An Employee who fails to call or show up to “an agreed” assignment may be terminated for No Call/No Show under the Disciplinary Action Policy. E. An Employee who does not work within a six (6) month time period may be placed on inactive payroll status. F. An Employee placed on inactive payroll status shall be eligible for rehire, but must go through the rehiring process again. G. A current copy of the Employees license to practice must be given to the Human Resources Department. HR will verify licensure with the State Board of Nursing. H. PRN Employees are covered by MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc.’s Worker’s Compensation and Liability Insurance and provided other benefits required by law. I. PRN Employees are reimbursed mileage as outlined in the Mileage Reimbursement Policy. J. PRN Employees are paid “per visit” and are not reimbursed for time between patient homes. Additionally, reimbursement for documentation time is included in the per visit rate. K. PRN Employees may be paid at an hourly rate for in-services, staff meetings or team conferences.
