MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. ANNUAL IN-SERVICE FOR INFECTION CONTROL PURPOSE: To maintain knowledge and skills related to reduction of risk for infection in patients/clients and staff. POLICY: All clinical staff will receive a minimum of two hours of in-service education in infection control annually. PROCEDURE: 1. The Agency will schedule continuing in service for infection control. 2. Frequency/duration of offerings will be determined by number of agency staff and scheduling needs. 3. At least one hour of this in-service will address prevention of exposure to blood-borne pathogens and tuberculosis. The other hour will focus on a topic selected by Agency Quality Improvement Committee with the advice of the Director of Nursing, Clinical Manager. 4. Additional in-service and training (at least one hour) will focus on a topic selected by the Agency Quality Improvement Committee. 5. Records of all in-service programs and attendance will be maintained in the Agency. Each individual employee is responsible for attending at least two hours of in service for infection control annually. Each individual employee will maintain a record of in service programs he/she has attended in his/her personnel record. Home Health Agency Nursing Care & Procedures K-98
