MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. ANNUAL IN-SERVICE FOR INFECTION CONTROL PURPOSE: To maintain knowledge and skills related to reduction of risk for infection in patients/clients and staff. POLICY: All clinical staff will receive a minimum of two hours of in-service education in infection control annually. PROCEDURE: 1. The Agency will schedule continuing in service for infection control. 2. Frequency/duration of offerings will be determined by number of agency staff and scheduling needs. 3. At least one hour of this in-service will address prevention of exposure to blood-borne pathogens and tuberculosis. The other hour will focus on a topic selected by Agency Quality Improvement Committee with the advice of the Director of Nursing, Clinical Manager. 4. Additional in-service and training (at least one hour) will focus on a topic selected by the Agency Quality Improvement Committee. 5. Records of all in-service programs and attendance will be maintained in the Agency. Each individual employee is responsible for attending at least two hours of in service for infection control annually.
