MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. AIDS is a disease which attacks the body's ability to fight off some illnesses. It is cause by a virus (germ) spread by sexual contact or sharing needles when shooting drugs. Half of the people who have AIDS have DIED. There is NO cure for AIDS. PREVENTION IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS DISEASE People can be infected with the AIDS virus and LOOK healthy; they can pass the virus on to another without either person knowing it. It is difficult to know who is infected; we urge EVERYONE to always take the simple precautions listed below to protect themselves. TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR BODY BY: ! Getting plenty of rest ! Providing it with good nutrition ! Exercising ! Reducing stress or worry ! Reducing alcohol intake DO: ! Limit sex to ONE partner ! Use rubbers (Latex rubbers ONLY) ! Use a water-based lubricant ONLY ! Social Kissing - on lips ONLY DO NOT: ! Exchange body fluids (urine, semen [cum], blood) ! Have oral, rectal or vaginal sex (without rubbers) ! Use drugs; if you do, DO NOT SHARE NEEDLES ! Have any kind of sex without rubbers-- ! DO NOT USE LAMBSKIN OR NATURAL MEMBRANE RUBBERS (because of the pores or holes in the materials). ! DO NOT USE VASELINE, COLD CREAM, BABY OIL, PETROLEUM JELLY OR LOTION (they weaken rubbers and cause them to break). ! DON'T HAVE SEX UNTIL YOU ARE A RESPONSIBLE MATURE ADULT.!!!!
