MDT Home Health Care Agency, Inc. to visit schedules. Must submit proof of drivers license and current auto insurance if means of transportation is an automobile. Experience: Two or more years of community nursing in a qualified home health agency preferred but nor required. One year recent medical-surgical nursing required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the practice of community health nursing. Knowledge of the concept of team nursing. Ability to organize, manage and function in assigned areas. Understanding and knowledge of the development of plans for client care and the ability to participate in them. Should possess the ability to accept and utilize supervision. Must have the ability to recognize the needs of and express concern for people. Should have the ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with individuals and their families. Should be able to handle the confidential matters related to each client's case. JOB CONDITIONS The ability to drive extensively in a geographic area. Must be able to access clients' homes which will not be routinely wheelchair accessible. Hearing, eyesight and physical dexterity must be sufficient to perform a physical assessment of the client's condition and to perform and demonstrate client care. Physical activities may include, walking, sitting, standing. Maximum to minimal lifting of clients and turning clients. On occasion, may be required to bend, stoop, reach and move client weight up to 250 pounds; lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds. Lifting and carrying nursing equipment. Frequent writing and telephone communication. Must be able to read 12 point or larger type. Must be able to hear and speak in a manner understood by most people. Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing. This Job Classification will have a Potential risk for Occupational Exposure to Blood and other Potential Infections body fluids, protective equipment will be provided by our Agency to limit the exposure and will promote self protection practices in the delivery of the Home Health Care, to provide appropriate treatment to home health care workers in the event of exposure incident and to promote compliance with the universal precautions.
